The ToC:
3 stories shouldn't even be in here considering its a celebration collection but whatever.
My book just came in! It came out earlier than expected. I skimmed through the book and they did a good job in the page orders. Each section has an essay from a writer that talks about the history of John Stewart. It’s one of the most nicest things I ever heard on how they speak about John. I haven’t read all of the writers views on John Stewart, but I’m pleased so far.
As someone who does not care for Geoff John’s, I must say, I’m very pleased on what he said about John Stewart. I’m actually shocked that he sort of put down Silver Age version of Hal Jordan to prop up John Stewart’s greatness.
He also said “even though this book celebrates John’s history, I know his future is brighter than anyone will be able to imagine”.
I love that quote. It’s hard to imagine this is the same Geoff John’s lol
Well, he is (or at least was; we haven't had any updates in a long while) involved with the reboot, so he'd presumably know what the future plans for John are. I think the sudden push DC has given him the last several years is a bit of a hint they're still banking on the movie being a thing sooner rather than later.
Hopefully there's some news at Fandome this year.
Yeah, Johns knows what's going on behind the scenes, so it helps him to look good if things planned for John end up turning out well.
I don't want things to be rushed, but I'd like to see something showing the company is invested in putting out John-related content on a bigger level.
Plans are just plans until results materialize, and plans can change.
That said, I'm looking forward to all of John's solicited comic book appearances over the next several months. John seems to be around the bend from his lackluster era after getting popular with the DCAU.
The rifle construct is super cool
Yea, Geoff Johns pretty much knows what's going on behind the scenes with John. So he could be alluding to what's to come with John. I just hope they do John Stewart right on the big screen, meaning he's portrayed very well among the audience.
