What Aaaron wrote is laughable. Also Echo as Phoenix won't stick. Aaaron run will end. What Jean said, sounded indeed like a fan fiction. Really a mess but I thing it won't stay for long. From all the the forms of Jeans and costumes, Jean as Phoenix and the Phoenix costume are the most recognizable form of the character. No way she won't go back.

Jean as phoenix is the perfect match, it works, it was build slowly, we were made to care, she was the original, this was one of the best comics story ever... Echo as phoenix will never compare, I don't know why marvel keep trying fit the phoenix with any other Heroes or vilain around, it doesn't work, we just don't care, and it cheapen the Pheonix concept... The Phoenix should completely desapear for a good few years and come back when the story will really need it, and it should come back to Jean, or to a character that fit the phoenix requirement, meaning a omega telepath at least!
Marvel really managed to diminish something very special, it's been said a lot but the Phoenix is now a bad STD that is going around, not the unique and scary force it should be!
Out of control phoenix should be so scary, and controlling the phoenix power should be a feat that not many can achieve!

yes, it made so much sense that the Phoenix Force only attaches itself to psy talents. It should be only possible for omega psy mutants to transcend into the Phoenix being!! Everything else is so boring and dull and cheapens the concept. Phoenix really became a cosmic (sexually) transmitted decease and nothing more. Originally Posted by perdid06

With the McGuinness design, I like the clean lines and really appreciate that instead of the usual gold accents, the artist went with silver with the green. I think I feel similarly about it as I do with Dan Panosian's X-Factor Forever design, it benefits from adding something "costume-y" to elevate it beyond regular human streetwear or looking like a minion/rank soldier instead of a lead character. What I don’t like about these type of costumes is that they lack any personality, it’s basically a glorified uniform, change the color scheme and anyone on krakoa could be wearing that, it just screams “plain” and “boring” something that a comic character should avoid at all costs Originally Posted by Thirteen

So the news today indicates Gerry Duggan is getting the X-Men book and Hickman will be on another book. I still assume that Hickman will write the Cyclops and Jean team but some websites assume (I think it was Newsarama) that Duggan will write the Scott and Jean X-Men team. Duggan did write a good Jean in the Cable issues of X of Swords so I wouldn't mind him writing her on a regular basis. However until stated otherwise I still assume Hickman will be writing the new X-Men team.
