Like a Red Dragon, The Phoenix shall Soar in 2024!
I mean, Jean isn’t necessarily thinking in those terms. After all, she and the heroes were on good terms (Why Jean escapes the rep that Krakoa has with heroes, I’ve no clue) in the first X-Men issue. And we see her front and center during King in Black, whereas Xavier was ready to pull the plug. After the stand she took against the Council in X of Swords, I’m doubtful she would have abandoned collaborating with the heroes of it meant saving Scott and everyone on the planet.
As for why she would seclude herself in Krakoa,
This is the world Jean comes back to after Nate Grey just showed her a Utopia where mutants are free.
Chiiile… 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Based on how X-Men: Red ended, I’m tempted to say that I know Jean would have at least considered going solo.
::sigh:: I love this character so much that I would pay the equivalent of a phone bill per month just to have her in a permanent solo series, of course, as long as it was written and drawn well. Is it wrong of me to want to whisk Jean away from this f***ing franchise and, dare I say, Marvel, too?
Before anyone contorts themselves, I’m just having a fangirl moment. 😂
We mostly just need to get her away from the Cyke fanboys at Marvel. Lololol
Jean makes a brief but impactful appearance in the Marvel Unlimited Infinity Comics exclusive It’s Jeff! #1 (2021):
And hanging out with Bobby Drake. I wish we saw that more.
