I recently rewatched the entire saga (minus Wolverine 1) and Jean actually has quite a strong arc throughout all the movies (not enough screen time of course but her portrayal is still very nuanced). She even has a strong political voice (X1) in this universe and is a health professional. I love her depiction in X2 in particular.

You could even say that Wolverine in Days of Future Past gives Xavier the knowledge from the future that Jean wouldn't turn dark in this timeline like X3.

Wolverine, Xavier, Magneto, Jean, and Mystique are all depicted splendidly in these movies and have gorgeous character developments.

In the movies, they focused on these X-Men: Professor X, Wolverine, Jean Grey/Phoenix, Mystique, Beast.
Cyclops (pivotal in 4 movies) and Storm (pivotal in 6 movies) were the symbols and the iconic figures of the X-Men, despite their relatively-limited screentime.

Magneto was the most developed villain.

As simple as that, the movies did a fantastic job with THESE characters. Nobody can deny that.

Looks like Taylor is in support of the Marvel Girl uniform. Or editorial decision. Either way, I am intrigued by Taylor’s alt universe.

I would say it's an editorial decision. I suspect we will see a costume change for her after Inferno.

No masks, no capes, no skirts, no heels. As I've said before, I wouldn't mind a simple black bodysuit, though that could be very Black Widow-ish.

Lose the mask and I'd go with the one on the right... I never did cotton to the "X" boots.
