Can someone even sue for an idea being "stolen"? Marvel and DC themselves copy and paste ideas from each other, at times really blatantly so, and nothing happens, 'cause a specific idea doesn't belong to you just because you came up with it, specially if no copyrights were made, and the idea that specific plot points can be copyrighted is dubious.

Either way, that Dr. Marvel codename, I'm gonna sound like a contrarian but I'm not feeling it, I dunno, it sounds corny, and not the usual funny kind of corny.

But might be a case where I find it weird 'cause it's new, after all, Captain Marvel also sounds ridiculous, oh well.

Anyone can sue anyone over anything. Whether or not they would win is another matter. But, yeah, comics companies have long avoided getting pulled into any legal morass of potentially giving the appearance of "stealing an idea" (when it could be a coincidence in future publication) by just avoiding unsolicited pitches or ideas from fans or anyone that doesn't have some kind of submission agreement in place.

Pretty sure he doesn’t use gay porn on his resume or as a part of his cv or when he applies for grants.

And Jean wouldn't necessarily put being a model on her resume either.

I also don’t think we’re going to get a movie about Jean’s resume. I’m pretty sure we are not going to see Professor Xavier or Reed Richards or any other top brain in the MCU shown as having done gay porn or any other porn. There’s nothing wrong with it but these films are about heroics, not about every job someone might have done in their lives.

A powerful, skilled woman simply does not do low paid, waitress jobs.

Powerful, skilled women start at low-paying jobs all of the time. It's done.

This is just so wrong. Having an "unskilled job" (a very classist term) like modeling or waitressing does not make you unintelligent or undignified.

I completely agree. Then again, we are speaking to someone who goes by the name "Wall Streeter." lol. I kid.

Seriously, though, WallStreeter, what is the meaning behind your username?

Even more convinced now that Sadie Sink would make a great Jean Grey. Look at her styling at 2'40! She looks very classy here:

The video is also very Jean-and-Scott-let's-get-a-cabin-in-the-woods after some X-Men fighting trauma.

What an utterly ludicrous thing to say. You have got to be trolling right now.

That's not trolling. It certainly qualifies as hyperbole, but it isn't quite trolling.

That really tells me a lot about how shitty this "Sue anyone" nonsense is, but hey, I get it now, thanks for the explanation.

I mean, Jean isn't Reed or Xavier, if part of her background has her being a model or waitress or whatever, then it doesn't hurt for it to be included, it helps to make her relatable, or even wish fulfilment, that someone powerful started small at some point.

If you don't like Jean starting small at some point, that's fine, but saying it can't happen at all, that's just silly.
