I admit that this sort of thing depresses me and makes me almost cry, since Kelly Tompson stopped writing Rogue she is practically non-existent (with some fleeting good moments she had in Excalibur) or is out of character which is very sad, after of so many good years where Rogue received a lot of love.


And the current situation with Duggan makes it more depressing since he is supposed to be a fan of Rogue (and he was if we see the UA issues that he wrote) to make her now a showgirl for Jean or one wallpaper.


But I insist, not everything is bad, the announcement of the continuation of that animated series In Disney+ is great news, which will benefit Rogue in the comics without a doubt

There was no need to cancel Mr and Mrs C just because of the Krakoan era. That sucked. I wish Kelly Thompson was still writing Rogue.

Duggsn hasn’t been terrible. To me the issue is all of the major developments so far happen outside of the X-Men title itself and that’s where Rogue is now.

This, and future solicits haven't shown us getting our Rogue focus issue and the plot's finally seeming to pick up pace...

So far, every X-Man on that team has had one focus issue. No reason to think she won't get hers. Plus she's not the lead... So that also factors in.

No, it's been mostly Jean. I went back and counted the dialogue Jeans been heavily used for exposition, moving the plot forward and emotional beats. 4 times as much as other characters.

Also the bolded... have you been reading Marauders? Duggan for 20+ struggled giving anyone outside of Emma and Pryde time or panel space. He has history having a hard time juggling a cast.

A sign of boredom, but I did a word comparison for a few characters in X-Men vol 6; using Jean, Sunfire and Rogue. This just a rough guestimate as with some dialogue it is not always clear who is speaking, but it highlights why people have been voicing problems with Duggan's usage of the characters.

Honestly if it wasn't for that exposition dump in X-Men 2, which again why was Sunfire explaining this to random people, Sunfire's average would be so bad. All Shiro's done is act as solar raid spray in issue 2 and get knocked out since.

Also I have to laugh that Emma in Jean's dream and the cameo in issue 5 had more dialogue than both Shiro and Anna the last two issues.

Honestly I think one of the biggest flaws of the current era is a good half of the writers just plain suck at writing ensemble casts and don't know how to juggle more than two or three characters. Percy and Duggan are the worst at it, for me.

Just popping in to note that the Rogue and Gambit Appreciation thread apparently got deleted by the admins by accident.

So if anyone is looking for it, it will be back after the new year since these are all getting locked soon anyways.

But I completely agree about several of the present writers being extremely poor at juggling their cast, Duggan included. I sure hope Rogue gets her "focus issue" soon.

I’m perfectly okay with Rogue being an Avenger again. In fact, I’d prefer it. Lately, the x-office hasn’t used her anyway. I don’t know why had to dismantle Uncanny Avengers anyway.

To me it’s even more important to have Uncanny Avengers in the Krakoa era. Beast should go back to the Avengers too.

While the Scarlet Witch settles in Krakoa.
