I am so happy that GA’s back at the center of the DCU and that he seems to be there to stay. I’m not happy that Bendis is writing him but he’s been written well in JLD and Flash and I’m just happy he matters again. It hasn’t seemed he had in a long time and he didn’t seem himself. The version of him in the New 52 second-tier team JLA bore very little resemblance to the Ollie I’ve been reading and loving since the 70s. This guy I recognize, even through Bendis’s poor characterization.
DC really wasn’t the same without him.
Green Arrow under Bendis isn't bad at all. I just think people are being bias at this point.
I always thought Bendis would write a good Oliver. Street level characters like him are right in his wheelhouse.

I'm nicer to Bendis at DC than most, but his handle on Ollie has been weird at best. It wasn't until someone brought up "Superman and Ollie are getting ALONG" recently in Justice League that I started to think he's getting a handle on Oliver Queen.
Joining a secret spy org is a very strange move for Ollie. But Ollie is in Brian's wheelhouse. I think he just didn't spend a lot of time examining him prior to Leviathan. Like Lois, he took a moment to find the character's voice and I hope it's smooth sailing from here.
I've said this before in another thread and I'll say it again. I still have yet to see Gail Simone write a decent Ollie b/c yikes. A VILLAIN is the last person that should be schooling a hero on what's right and wrong.

I might have agreed with you a few years ago but her most recent stories featured Ollie and BC together and even a possible timeline where they had a kid.
She also wrote Double Date for JLU which heavily favored Ollie/Dinah. I think that was brought up earlier in the thread.
