Weisman isn't going to be the last one to helm a DC show. Barring DC's animation side shutting down entirely, there will be new blood, changing of guards, new people will take over, there will be a need to do something different, something interesting to keep the brands fresh and to draw people's attention.

The shows aren't made in a vacuum. Everyone knows DC has some say in how their characters are depicted in adaptations. Timm and co couldn't use the real JSA in their JL episode because DC didn't like how they were going to be depicted in that two parter, they came up with Hro-Talak because DC didn't want them to use the Katar Hol (which they admitted was absolutely the right decision) and Supergirl being born on a sister planet to Krypton was because DC had a mandate stating that Clark should be the last son of krypton.

I am pretty sure there was some behind-the-scenes crap that lead to Wally's 'death' in YJ.

Even though Weisman is the showrunner, remember he initially wanted to make a Nightwing show which eventually morphed into a YJ show. YJ feels a lot like the Johns era Teen Titans where the team is largely Justice League Jr operating under the JL, there is no Starfire, no Raven but they eventually brought in Cyborg and Beast Boy, Dick graduates into Nightwing without any influence from Starfire and Wally West is almost entirely based on his pre crisis self (parents are alright, no Linda, no Speed Force).

Hopefully, one day we'll get a DC that's willing to break the mold a little bit. There are plenty of ways to introduce Wally into live action with or without Barry.

One day, we might hope they pull a Scott Lang

...why does Jay have white hair in the 40s? He's not that old!

Now I'm trying to think to myself why Jay would prematurely gray .

It's almost certainly just so people know who it is before he puts on the costume in those first panels.

The reason I say Wallace is because, for the forseeable future, Iris is going to be black in every adaptation. If you want to introduce Iris' troubled nephew from a breaking/broken home named Wallace/Wally to become Kid Flash, they're just going to use the one that's already black. They might call him Wally but they'll just always adapt the black version because it's easier. That's why Wally West is dead as a character in external media -- Barry will always precede him and they need to use the black character to match Iris now being black. Path of least resistance there. And, frankly, adapted version are so strung out and different from comics versions the only way you CAN tell which one it will be is by the ethnicity these days. Adaptations are so watered down and twisted characterwise it'll be irrelevant to distinguish them on anything but appearance.

Avery Ho could reasonably show up at some point, sure, but the Iris Nephew bit is an easy introduction.
I dont see why they'd have to go with a troubled nephew. Wally could easily keep an origin close to what he has now regardless of Iris's race. He can be Iris's nephew, be mixed, grow up in a perfectly fine suburban home. Even if he has two black parents he could still grow up in a perfectly fine suburban home with the white picket fence. Media tends to think when they racebend characters that it will drastically change the character wherein it isnt always true. Just like keeping him a redhead...could still happen either naturally or he dyes it red.

This actually works as a good way to explain whenever writers write the other Flashes like they're Wally.

Unless they decide to do an entire story arc about Wally's parentage or something it's irrelevant. If he's black he'll be Wallace because Wallace and Wally, turns out, have the same exact place in the family when it comes to external media and nothing about their characters matter. Because whatever they write will be made up in a writer's room with little to no care for adherence to the comics. QED, Wally in the CW show. Also, if you're going to make the Wests black...why not just use the black character? It erases all complication.
