    Really? :-/

While I loved that fact that we had TWO ongoing Aquaman monthlies for a bit, the whole concept of The Others wasn't strong enough to support a regular book, imho. And it seems too soon to water down the film franchise by introducing more characters already.

Yeah I am of the same opinion, that said the others will be based on Johns run.

I think we'll definitely see some influences from Johns' second arc in the sequel, which likely means Manta killing Tom Curry.

This. It's a great concept and deserves further exploration.

they didn't even explore the 7 kingdoms of the sea yet, let alone the confluence, that may happen in Aquaman Vol 1591

Tom died of a heart attack, While Johns is involved in the movie all decisions are taken by Wan.

I was more expecting a spiritual adaption than a direct one.

I wonder if that creature at the end of the trailer is from Atlantis.

I'm thinking it's probably going to be more in the vein of Johns' THE OTHERS arc. Arthur's friends and allies from his wanderlust days come back into play. Hopefully we won't get bogged down with new characters, we need plenty of room for Tula ya know!

    exactly from that particular arc.
I share your concern that the others mean getting bogged down with lots of characters.

Not to mention it's just a terrible name. It really is "Aquaman and the Nobodies." They could have just as well called them The Irrelevants.

Not commenting on the characters, just the name.

'The Others' works as a pulp-y name though. You could also say they're all "otherworldly" like Arthur is. They're straight up 'the others'.

It's not very evocative as the title of a series, but as a "these are the people I hung out with in my weird 'n reckless in-between years" it works. I do think AQUAMAN AND THE OTHERS has a solid ring to it.

The Dan Jurgens book was boring, but I think it could be a fun title under the right creators.
