The s-shield reminds me of the Kingdom Come shield design wise in that the “S” is sort of merged with the borders of the shield. I really like that design aspect. As for the suit itself… maybe mecha anime/cartoons? Weren’t those really popular at the time?

I'd like Irons to show up in the first or second season, but I don't know about Steel proper without some sort of adaption of Death of Superman. He should absolutely be Clark's reference for technical stuff when the Fortress (if it's in play) doesn't have a good read or the AIs don't have the pertinent information to aid Clark.

Having him fill the void of Superman by embodying his spirit and essentially fulfilling the promise that Lex claims Superman holds himself back from is what made me love Steel.

He was very much a case of "show, don't tell" whereas Lex just makes excuses for why he can't be Steel.

Not specifically, just a plot that hits the same major beats. Maybe Clark loses his powers for a while and the Supermen arise to fill the void, or maybe they do a variation of Exile. Whatever the case, I want him to be the one who steps up when needed. Hell, in my own retelling of Reign, it's Supergirl and Steel and that's it. lol
