Gambit is playing poker with a villain, grey character and hero. It feets his characterization perfectly.
It seems his A+X story where he was playing poker with Thing is not forgotten.
So many comic writers have unhealthy views of relationships and can’t seperate them from their own issues. I remember Tom King had the same relationship wih Bruce and Selina where she was like babysitting this depressed teenager who sulked all the time. It felt so weird. Whenever you have a socially confident guy for some reason their relationships turn into them being emotionally immature and the woman has to be the adult in the relationship.
That being said this is Rogue’s book not Gambit’s and we know he’s only gonna cameo in these books from time to time. So she needs to be shown as the stronger of the two. I’m sure if Rogue comes back to Excalibur they will show Gambit as the stronger one
No offense but I think y’all are being overly-pessimistic about the preview, it’s just meant to be a cutesy fight played off for laughs. Wife getting mad at her husband for playing cards with his buddies is a classic cliché.
The scene was fine in isolation. But, outside of books meant to rehabilitate the relationship, when was the last time Rogue was shown actually proud of Gambit? It just gets old that Gambit is someone Rogue has to be ashamed off. This scene basically harkens back to the Asmus scene where Rogue badmouthed Gambit to the Avengers when they were considering him.
It's hard for me to listen to someone not in my position. A caterpillar can't relate to what an eagle envisions.
The excitement of the one X-Men page of Gambit actually acting like Gambit and speaking in full sentences made me temporarily forget to dread Excalibur. Which looks like the opening for that Nickelodeon show Grimm’s Fairy Tale Classics.
Bleedingcool referenced the X-Men scene as being taken from King of Queens, as opposed to the references of Everyone Loves Raymond and my super dated Home Improvement note. Having never seen King of Queens, I assume the wife is a harpy. I think I prefer Marge and Homer, where yes, Homer is a moron, but Marge just says lovingly: Oh, Homie….
You never know, Rogue could be more pissed he’s playing cards for hours and not making snuggle time with her. In which case, I would completely understand her ire.
I've noticed Gambit often gets cut out of merchandise. My LCS got X-Men mugs loosely based on TAS but not Gambit. Same with Topps card app. Nightcrawler took his spot of the DVDs even though he's in one episode. There's lots of other stuff he gets cut out of. Anyways the employee and I were talking and she found it odd to for such a popular character. She said maybe there's creator royalties. I've never actually thought of that. I wonder if that's true and it's only because of the massive popularity that they do put him on some merchandise. It would explain so much if Jim Lee gets cut. Or even Claremont.
Has there been any news the last 2 weeks on that Claremont gambit series
No news. But he’s clearly done with Gambit as his latest Instagram is about not being able to write.
His captions are interesting combination of describing his life and days and potentially song lyrics. Not sure what to make of his captions but he seems to be talking a lot
Gambit needs a new solo, especially to finally tell his true origin.
By the way, what do you think about him using his death powers again?
Or at least that she uses her already developed natural powers, we really know he is the god of energy ... I hate that they keep Remy nerfed, while pleasing other heavy fans like storm's who have delusions that she is a goddess (not It is no matter how much they cry about it) and notice they cried so much that they declared it Omega lol.
And Remy that if she has really shown enormous potential they keep it nerfed.
