Hair is irrelevant. Styles changes from year to year. What comics Riri hair is in 2017, won’t necessarily be the hairstyle live action Riri has in 2022.

Agreed but I also think the cornrows' hairstyles give Dominique a more teen look.

The thing is, Riri should have big hair for the same reason most intellectual characters have big hair: to emphasize the size of their brains. Mr Glass was right about that.
