Looks like the Chris Claremont Anniversary Special is coming out on January 13th:

Awesome cover:

"In the CHRIS CLAREMONT ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL, the acclaimed writer returns to the world of the X-Men with a brand-new story. Dani Moonstar is drafted for a mission across time and space for an incredible psychic showdown against the Shadow King —joining forces with other characters created and defined by the pen of Chris Claremont! In this extra-sized milestone issue, Claremont will team up with a host of iconic artists including Brett Booth and reunite with his classic New Mutants collaborator, Bill Sienkiewicz." Artists Sean Chen and Diego Olortegui also illustrate chapters in the 40-page special, which is lettered by Tom Orzechowski.
One of the best X-Characters ever, her and Doug/Warlock were my favourite New Mutants.

Blu Hunt, who portrayed Dani in the recent New Mutants movie, has an idea for how she'd like to see Dani's character evolve if there is ever a sequel:

As long as she doesnt return. She was very underwhelming as Dani. A large part of that was the writing but she didnt impress me either
Agreed. Overall, the script was pretty lackluster and distinctly lacking in character development. It was as though all of the people trapped there had interesting back stories, but they were barely touched upon. I think that's why a lot of the criticism of the plot centered around it being more like a CW show and the film more like a pilot episode than a feature film.
But of the group of actors, clearly Anna Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams knocked it out of the park. The actors who portrayed Sam / Roberto were also good, IMO, they just didn't have much to work with.
Despite being the lead, I think Blu Hunt was the least talented actor in the film. Qualitatively, she just wasn't as skilled as the rest of the cast, and it showed.

If they couldn't even make Magik actually magic there's no way they'd make Dani a Valkyrie with all the implications about Asgard.
So are you all getting the King in Black: Valkyrie series?

The Issue is very heavy on The Sentry, which is not really for me. The art is pretty great at times, and I am intrigued by the new Valkyrie that is based on the MCU Tessa Thompson version. I'm interested to see how she and Dani are going to interact. I predict (hope for) some flirtatious advances in Dani's future.
