Are you actually saying the the people behind this article actually have a clue about what they are talking about?

Cyclops' new X-Men team has absolutely nothing to do with actually governing Krakoa as it is implied here.. At worst they are a P.R. stunt that Xavier and Magneto unofficially approve of because they can't be seen officially approving the creation of the team.

Issues of it being a state sanctioned thing and all that......

Which seemed relevant, since this is a discussion thread about Dani Moonstar.

This pretty much has nothing to do with a ritual about fighting to be reborn,or twisting it to become what basically amounts to be cosmetic surgery. It's about using it to separate two souls/minds from each other. Hence the Dead Souls tie-in.

At the end of Dead Souls, Xi'an tricks Illyana into helping her reabsorb her twin's consciousness. Tran controlled Xi'an then "sells" the transmode infected New Mutants to O.N.E. The infected NM's are then rescued by Cyclops and his makeshift team of X-Men, and they "join" the X-Men. They're later cured by Dark Beast of the transmode virus, but the process restores the powers Dani lost during the Decimation.

What ever happened between Xi'an and Illyana after all that? Why did Xi'an want to reabsorb Tran in the first place, only to now be eager to restore him to separate physical form?

Basically losing her brother made her feel 'incomplete' and so she went nuts trying to get him back, not realizing that he had been influencing her actions up until that point. When they were freed from O.N.E. Karma was expressing guilt and remorse for what she did, and after they were cured of the transmode virus she decided to leave the X-Men since she thought Illyana and Rahne both hated her and that she deserved to be hated. Then Krakoa happened and everyone seems to have just forgiven everyone. I assume Karma is feeling more at peace by just being on Krakoa and thinks since everyone is being forgiven Tran should get the same chance, so she's willing to forgive and try with Tran and assumes they now have enough firepower to deal with him if he betrays them.

New Mutants #18 came out today -- cool issue. A little too much dialogue in spots, but the fight between Dani and Xi'an in the crucible was awesome.

Which is too bad, because that lone image is a little out of whack with the others, which are cool depictions of her various phases.
