I don't understand why they are comparing comics Tony's track record to MCU Tony. Sometimes these articles are just annoying.

Intriguing article. I think a lot of heroes face up against this question, sooner or later, whether they've been wrong all along. For example, over in Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker himself is being forced to reckon with whether he's ultimately done more harm than good in the lives of those nearest and dearest to him despite all the people he's saved over the years, and if so, how does he even begin to balance those scales? Tony Stark taking this question on would be compelling, since his actions tend to be more impactful on a global scale, given his position as (formerly) head of one of the biggest multinational corporations in the Marvel Universe and (a) founding Avenger, whereas Peter's are more limited to the people in his immediate social circles as himself and as Spider-Man. Still, definitely food for thought.

That article is rubbish. Stark hasn't tried to "impose his will" on people except when mind-controlled himself. Civil War wasn't him imposing his will, it was the American populace rejecting hard rightwing libertarianism, and Stark bowing to their demands.

I found this interview will looking around for Doom related stuff. Comic Watchers Show Episode 112 (January 14, 2021). The first 43 minutes of the conversation is about his Iron Man series.

With Spider-Man though, it's just lousy meta. People in his orbit suffer because that's what writers do.

Throwing shade against Peter for saving lives, often at great personal expense, is nothing more than victim blaming/shaming.

With Tony and Korvacs though, it should just be treated as self doubt. Tony's gone up against cosmic baddies to know that absolute power is never a good thing.

    IRON MAN #8

CHRISTOPHER CANTWELL (W) • JUANN CABAL (A) • Cover by ALEX ROSS
    REBORN VARIANT COVER BY TBA
Tony Stark has vanished in the middle of outer space, and his friends are moments away from death at Korvac’s hands. It’s up to a shell-shocked Hellcat to dig deep into her mind with the help of old friend and psychic mentor Moondragon, who reaches across the universe to help Patsy reclaim the once-powerful mental abilities she left behind. But to reignite those powers, Hellcat is going to have to face some pretty frightening demons in her past…one of them literally the Son of Satan himself.

I don't remember the last time Patsy and Heather have even talked, probably because the latter has been either stuck in space or dead.

I'm kind of morbidly curious how Cantwell will write Daimon.

Me: Continuity is an important tool that can propel stories, as long as its not just using obscure trivia for the sake of the obscure

Iron Man: Hey, remember how Hellcat had powers that didn't compliment her character and haven't been used in over 25 years?

    Me: Sigh...
