It’s that time of the year again! Happy New Year! Let’s hope 2021 is kinder to our Beetle Boys than 2020 was! Give us a comic, team membership somewhere, a live action show/movie! Something! What are you hoping 2021 brings for Dan, Ted and Jaime?

Done with DC. Can't handle the constant whiplash! Time to go on a hiatus!

Looks like it may be an ok year for Ted as he and Booster are featured on the Infinite Frontier promo image. So that’s pretty cool. Unfortunately all signs point to DC continuing to ignore Jaime.

A version of Dan Garret (with one ‘t’) is public domain now. I don’t think any other publisher would be dumb enough to try and use the Blue Beetle name on a comic but it could make it more complicated to use DC’s Dan Garrett in comics.

I think the old stories are in public domain, but not necessarily the character itself.

The original Captain Marvel is in a similar boat: those old stories are not protected, but any modern-day use of the character in new material would be.

The original Electric Company PBS show had a Blue Beetle too.

Still one of my favorite character designs. Cool to see Cully Hamner's process.

"Mask suggests a sort of Mexican wrestler motif."
"...key to selling a new character is a great silhouette."

while I wasn't a fan of the last series, I thought the tweaks to the scarab armor were interesting. They made it look more insect-like.

I voted for Jaime. Still waiting on that HBO Max show or DCEU movie! WB seriously better not let Disney beat them with introducing the younger generation of heroes, when DC has a superior roster of younger heroes!
