It’s true. Xolo confirmed he’s Blue Beetle on IG. He’s even at the Suicide Squad premier. Seems like he just got the role too (according to the trades)

So damn happy about this casting! It’s a bummer that the movie itself is going to be straight to HBO Max (apparently so is Batgirl and Static) but maybe if the first one is a successful the sequels can get theatrical releases.

Now if only DC would actually do something with Jaime in the comics! He’s not going to be able to maintain a solo series (pretty much the case for any DC mid tier character) but put him on a team book at least. Have him show up in group shots and splash pages of DC heroes. Anything!

Seriously though, this looks pretty great. I wonder if they’re going to use the Captain Atom’s Charlton design.

I hope they continue with these DC animated shorts. They’re utilized some great characters that don’t get a lot of mainstream attention. They’ve done The Spectre, Phantom Stranger, and even Sgt. Rock and the Creature Commandos. Looking forward to Beetle and the Charlton heroes.

The Charlton version was named Allan Adam and was a scientist. His origin is much more similar to Dr. Manhattan’s.
