A stupid concept if there ever was one. If people can't change things that haven't happened yet, then there's no point to life. Everything is predetermined, so why bother?
I absolutely agree. Doesn't help that the rule are always so hazy as to what's unchangeable or not. Makes it a cheap plot device for angst and misery and also a cheap plot device for reversing the shocking deaths when they want to.

At first, it seemed like a sweet story, but the more you think about it, it begins to annoy the hell out of you with inconsistencies like Wonder Woman and Zatanna not trying to do anything that would change the expected outcome.
So I read the controversial issue #33 of the Brave and the Bold and I don't know how I feel about this.

Zee to Babs : "Invite him (Gordon) over to dinner some time. Even cops have to eat."

A few pages later. At the day of the Killing joke.

Babs to Gordon : "I'm so glad you could make it over for dinner, dad. As a friend reminded me lately even cops need to eat."

    WTF

In comic books you can't even invite someone to dinner without it being part of some cosmic uber plot.

    Justice League Dark (2018) # 12

This is one of Zatanna's greatest moments. James Tynion IV and Alvaro Martinez Bueno did a great job making this moment quite memorable. I noticed that Tynion took inspiration from some of Zatanna's history like -

The Red Dragon headress that Zee wore with her Satellite era costume which now has a slightly different design. I like how it's used to hold Sargon's Ruby that contains Mordru's chaos magic.

Ripping the panels of the comic. It is a homage to Grant Morrison's Seven Soldiers: Zatanna where Zee fought Zor, an enemy of the Spectre.

James Tynion IV also added a twist of his own by changing Zatanna's backward speech to anagrams to show Zee's turn toward Chaos.

Also I really like Manbat's eagerness to learn more about magic. His inexperience with magic allows Zee to show her knowledge and expertise in magic.

I was more thinking of Victorian fashion for ladies, but I am a fan of the iconic look .

I like it too. Especially given the reason why she wore it:

Damn, thought that was for his upcoming mini with Williamson but it’s just fan art sadly.

Melnikov does work for DC so I totally understand the confusion. I wish he'd get more work. He's great.
