The question of their strength is a tad iffy, and has varied over time, and by writer. In general, yes, the average Thanagarian seems to be a bit stronger than the average human. However, a lot of their feats of strength involve them using the Nth Metal's gravity-suppressing properties on whatever they're lifting. Candidly, that's an idea that I like about the Hawks, because it means that they can cope with the Solomon Grundies of their world, but they can't just dismiss a threat like Sportsmaster either. Just seems some writers are more willing to plot around limitations than others, who basically say "Fudge it! They're superstrong!"
