She says that death is less scary if you have someone waiting for you to which Hawkman asks her "what about Larry" and she says "I dont think he is the one"

I hope the Justice Society: WWII was a taste of what's to come in this animated universe. I would love an animated attempt at Brad Meltzer's JLA with Canary taking a more prominent role.

Yeah, Canary as Chairperson of the League was interesting

I loved it so much. I also enjoyed that run in no small part due to the roster since it included (obviously Dinah being integral) Red Tornado, Vixen and Black Lightning.

What is everyones thoughts on the weird "weakness" the Canary Cry has? A lot of times they'll have it be ineffective against villains if they wear earplugs or its just a force where it can push back a villain but really get to their hearing. The Cry has been shown to be strong enough to topple buildings, Black Siren literally screamed someones brains out, the JSA movie had her scream a monster to death practically rendering it to bones.

I don't necessarily need the Canary Cry to be overpowered but I think it should be able to do some serious damage. While I prefer for Dinah to rely heavily on her martial arts training and only use the cry as a sort of last resort, I don't think we should forget that the Canary Cry is one of the things that elevates her and puts her on par with some of her peers in the Justice League.

I know not everyone on the JL has to be a Superman or Wonder Woman but I think it is nice to know that Dinah has something in her arsenal that can make her a powerful asset to the team in times of need. Especially if it can help her stand on equal footing next to some of the most powerful people on the planet.

No, I'm not saying people like Ollie, Roy, Batman, etc. aren't as valued, appreciated or needed on the team. I just feel that if Dinah has this ability it might as well be able to do some damage, especially if we play with this idea that the cry is immensely powerful but she chooses not to use it because she is such a skilled hand-to-hand combatant. That's just interesting writing to me, personally.

I guess it depends on how forceful she is with it, because she can probably control how strong or weak the cry is.

I see the cry as a mid-level power. It can do some damage but outside of making his ears hurt a helluva lot, it's not going to do much to Superman. Less to people without his senses like Diana or Billy. That said, I don't think it needs a drawback. Dinah doesn't rely on it because she doesn't want or need to. Having it incapacitate her always felt like overkill. It's effectively a gun when her whole body is a weapon. She never really needs it and it's there in case-- for some reason-- she does.

The way her combat scenario used to work is that while Ollie was the long-range specialist and her the close range one, each had some options in the opposite. Dinah's was the cry. Destructive, but unfocused. Not the speed she usually goes for.

I think the sonic scream should come in two modes: a high pitch screech that at low levels can disorient opponents or at worst deafens them or air being moved at such concussive force they either knock someone off their feet or blast through a wall.

It probably won't do a lot of damage to Supes but I think it can at least stagger him if she tries hard enough.

I think her Cry should make Supermans ears bleed and leave him disoriented. Dude has super hearing, the cry should be the last thing he wants to hear.

That does not work for me. His ear drums are super-strong, too. And I'm just not a fan of increasing characters' powers. I like most of them at less than the peak power they've had.

I agree with this. Also, the Canary cry is visually rather dull and despite it taking action of her behalf, it just looks rather passive. And comics are visual medium.
