I still liked what we got. My biggest complaint was not having more of her on screen. But now we get a movie! What a time to be a comic book fan.

No, she plays second fiddle to Harley and in the big brawl is shown not to be particularly adept at fighting. Harley is better than her, which is absolute bullshit.

She can take a punch well, though. Smollet-Bell has that Harrison Ford gift of selling the idea she took a hit. If she got to play Dinah instead of Harley's signal booster, she'd likely be pretty great.

Those emojis seem to be hinting at more martial arts characters.

What is the point of Black Canary movie if they don't adapt this costume?

I would love to see a Black Canary mini-series (TV or comic book) set in the 40s when Black Canary actually debuted as a character. The 40s was such a great period visually.

For the film version, they really need to rethink her visual. Titans finally made something good for Starfire, I hope HBO Max can do something similar for Black Canary because if she looks like she did in Bird of Prey, then don't even bother!

It was some derivative that tried to look modern -- but just didn't work.

But she did get rid of that outfit with the headband.

The unfortunate incident in Longbow Hunters aside, I actually did like the way Dinah was written in the late 80's/early 90's for the most part.
