I'd love to see Idris be Blue Marvel, he's got the look and the acting chops. I def think Marvel should've waited to use him in a more prominent role.

This is gonna sound controversial. But if you're not Thor or Hulk then Marvel comics doesn't give a damn about high tier powerhouses.
Oh, believe me, we know.
And it's much worse than that for some characters. I mean at least the Sentry and Silver Surfer have a handful of series under their belts and get to appear every now and then in events. Not so much with Blue Marvel. Still, we can only hope that someday Blue Marvel gets another shot with a creative team that actually cares enough about him to give us an entertaining read.
But the reality may just be that Adam remains in publishing limbo and Marvel lets him stay there for good. As far as I know, he didn't appear anywhere in 2021 and there's nothing slated for him in 2022. You young folks will have to keep the flame lit.
I don't really consider SS in the powerhouse catagory. But Sentry they have trolled many times. To me its like Marvel editors don't want other high tier powerhouses taking the "shine" away from Hulk and Thor. I thought Hyperion was gonna have a future in Marvel especially the way Hickman wrote him but nope... And as a Black person it kills me how neglected Adam is smdh.
But hey at least Adam is not getting trolled like the Sentry by Marvel writers/editors. And yes, its sad he didn't appear anywhere this year. Blue Marvel has lots potential but even when he is used Marvel keeps him limited. I don't know why?
It all depends on who is writing SS, I guess. But he's supposed to be in that elite class. I vaguely recall a story where his power helped an injured and almost depleted Molecule Man fix the planet a few years back. That's an astonishing amount of energy. But I understand that people don't really see SS in that top tier light.
As for why Marvel limits Blue Marvel, we all know why. There's simply not enough support from Marvel's readership for them to justify giving him franchise character treatment. And while it's an environment that Marvel didn't necessarily create, it's certainly one that they've protected, nurtured and advanced, and they really don't care to fix it. If you consider all of the comics that Marvel has published since 2008 (when Blue Marvel was first introduced), you'd be hard-pressed to find an incomplete heroic journey that is more compelling imho than Adam Brashear. But here we are, almost 2022, and Marvel is still pushing the same old, same old.

I agree I don't really think Marvel is all the interested in having consistent characters usurping Thor and Hulk in the strength and power dept. Hyperion they use quite a bit but mostly in alternate universe stories. Which I don't mind. I sort of enjoy him in those type of stories. I really enjoyed supreme power.
