Oh. To add a twist to the canon and avail themselves of creative license. Kind of like how they made Scarlet Witch not just a mystical adept, but a special, rare class of witch. Or removed Monica Rambeau's father from the picture entirely and made her not only a child, but altered how she got her powers and her place as the second Captain Marvel after Mar-Vell perished.
Plus, I figure it's a movie about Marvels, so I'm wondering if they'll try to loop in as many characters who bore that name as possible. Given that Adam is actually the second Blue Marvel (the clone of Thelius, who assumed the identity of Marvel Boy, was the first in terms of publication date), it wouldn't surprise me if they considered combining the two. It would also be one of many possible ways to introduce a version of the Quantum or Nega Bands to the MCU. Adam, astrophysicist and multidimensional explorer, stumbles upon them while strolling the NZ, becomes an unknown hero from the 1960s for a minute before SHIELD quarantines and black-sites him.
Or something like that.

I'm always open to costume changes for Adam. I think most people have grown used to his current weekend warrior outfit with the vest, but that get-up doesn't come across as iconic to me. I agree that exploring different color combinations might enhance the overall presentation. While he may be the Blue Marvel, the costume doesn't have to be limited to blues only. Pretty much every color goes with blue, depending on which hue you use.
If you could move Blue Marvel to a different city which would it be? I think Atlanta would be a great fit for him.

Philadelphia
Shamier Anderson in Halle Berry's new movie. Not sure what role he'll play in Marvels, but if it is Adam, that's fine with me.
Just watched The Harder They Fall last night. And now I'm back to wishing there was someway they could cast Idris Elba as Dr. Adam Brashear. If and when the time comes.
