Looks like the multi-colored Lanterns are going to continue their vacation in comic book limbo with Thorne's run. Can't say I'm all that disappointed by that. As much as I enjoyed the Emotional Spectrum stuff during Johns's run, they'd kinda reached their logical conclusion with Blackest Night. Nothing since then has really seemed all that compelling to me, with the notable exception of the late great GL: TAS, but that show was essentially an animated adaptation of the Johns/Tomasi era.
I'm glad all the various other Lanterns are there if anyone wants to play with them, but I'm in no rush to see anyone try to make them a big deal again.

For me continual use of emotional spectrum after BN was one of the things that killed the interest in the franchise, it felt same old with writers not knowing where to move the franchise.

It happens with a lot of franchises after a great creative run ends. Nobody good wants to try to follow it, so the book falls into the hands of lesser creators. To be fair, though, Venditti rebounded nicely by the end his run, but his initial stuff was....eesh Originally Posted by HsssH
