Yeah, they're probably worried that plain spandex would look like a Power Ranger, and therefore look cheap. That's why even the TV shows use other materials or textures.

I think it’s pretty ridiculous that when Billy’s powers go on the fritz he goes to Titans Academy for help and hangs out with a bunch of rookies. The literal power of the gods is acting up. This is something the Justice League should be helping him with.

No one said Billy as a 16 year old made smart decisions.

Also for a previous post, yes the wizard dead in Infinite Frontier #1 and the rock of Eternity is trapped in Hell, which is the basis for the upcoming Mini-series. Billy might be having a rough year honestly.
