Mary as Shazam? I'm not really against it, but does it make sense? We will see I guess....

Compared to other legacy changes, I'd say it makes enough sense.

Since the synopsis mentions Billy as her estranged brother, he at least is not dying. But the fact that it also mentions him making a heroic sacrifice means something happens to him. Could it be that since the Wizard is currently dead, he has to take his place in order to stop/ stabilise something. The after a period of time getting used to the job sends the talking rabbit mentioned in the synopsis to inform Mary that she is his pick as Champion?

Seems I should have read the synopsis better. It looks like a good setup for Mary. I wonder if this is cannon, it doesn't appear so as there is no mention of the other members of the Shazamily.

Well I'm just happy for more Shazam content. I thought we'd get a lot more with the Shazam movie coming out, but that run died a tragic death. At least we can hopefully expect more with Shazam 2/Black Adam coming out soon.

She was still called Mary Marvel in a fairly recent book (DCeased maybe?), hopefully she keeps the name.
