Yeah they're not changing anything with Vulcan. Sinister teased (back in Powers of X #4) that there were more than 3 siblings so this seems to just be paying off on that. Adam-X's story (in X-Men Legends #1-2) as told in-continuity (circa X-Men stories of ~1995-1996) would just take place before the introduction of Gabriel (in X-Men: Deadly Genesis (2006)). Editorial would make sure that nothing in Adam's story contradicts the "later" stories involving Gabriel. There's a good quote from Fabian (in interviews for the upcoming X-Men Legends) where he talks about working within certain boundaries/confines with an in-continuity flashback story vs. the freer reins you'd have with an in-sequence or out-of-continuity story, so he is respecting other established canon.

Can someone tell me what is happening here?



I can't quite recall him using his power on himself before. Is he using it to super-charge, speed himself here? I think I recall reading somewhere that Adam's blood is acidic (when using his power on his own blood?) but don't know if I'm remembering that from seeing it in-panel or if I just read that as a fan theory?

Assuming Cyclops learns this in X-Men Legends #1-2, then... damn, he abandoned Adam-X's ass harder than he did Madelyne, or Alex did the child he had with the Wasp, or Corsair abandoned his sons.

Not entirely. Cyclops called on Adam (for one panel) to fight Juggernaut when the God of Fear, or whatever, possessed Juggernaut.

So what are they gonna do about Vulcan?

Nothing. Vulcan, sadly, continues to exist.
Vulcan's origin is that Katherine was pregnant when abducted (she clearly isn't in the original story, but whatever).
Adam's has been - and shown in issue #1 - that he was a genetic mix of D'Ken and an "Earth Woman" - which we can now, pretty much confirm as Katherine (since their powers don't affect one another - a Summers trait).

So? There's no set limit

Correct. Even hinted at when Adam is rescued as an infant in X-Men Legends. Look closely. This was also seen in the Age of Apocalypse that had Adam as "Burner."

Adam is able to electrocute his own blood to enhance his speed for quick bursts, moving at "flash like speed" (according to Fabian).
And his blood is not acidic - people like to joke about it - "his blood burnnnnnnnssss!"

Well, that's interesting.

I do think that it's a neat new way for Adam to use his powers. Gives him a way to use his powers if he is unable to cut somebody. As far as I know, Adam is the only character capable of being able to burn his own blood to enhance his speed. Makes him more unique.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is something he may be able to do - similar to how he does it for short busts of speed - I can see it for brief strength bursts.

It's his normal costume - I just photoshopped the abundance of blades off of him.

Left the throwing knives in his boots - and the blades on the top of his glove.
