I don't follow the Arrow-verse much but didn't the show expand on the legacy aspect of Vixen and had her ancestor as a member of the JSA? Thought that was an intriguing idea. Especially since Vixen was once offered member on the JSA.

Yeah, the Legends of Tomorrow had her grandmother (Amari) as a member of the team for a season, she fell in love with Steel. Which is kind of funny since the comic actually hinted that they had emotions for each in a retcon.

I agree with you but Anansi is perhaps the most popular African god...so he sadly represents all African gods in stories.

Yes, after they couldnt get the OG actress they changed it to Vixens grandmother and since the character had a expiring clock they got rid of her but the character went from Trinity status to 2nd tier grandmother supporting character.

And then they basically rewrote Mari's entire history and made her a dual Vixen with her sister.

Amaya didn't even get to do much with the Totem because of the show's lack of budget and care for the Superhero aspect.

Truth be told, I wasn't a big fan of the actress that played her and would have been happy with someone else.

Likewise, I would have preferred a continuation of Mari's story in LEGENDS with a recast actress if the original would not return. However I suppose Megalyn Echikunwoke has enough clout in Hollywood that they would want to leave the door open to luring her back as Vixen down the line.
