Cool Bao Pham: Clownhunter Appreciation 2021

The big question: is Bao Pham Red X, or is Tynion just trolling readers?

    And re-subscribing to new thread!

OopsIdiditagain, don't know if you have any handy, but if you do, would you mind posting some pages from the recent Batman Annual of Bao's story?

(And any new fanart you can find, of course. )

As dark as it is, yeah. The circumstances makes complete sense.

It just occurred to me that if Bao becomes Red X, he, Signal, and Red Hood could become a team called The Clown Hunters; a squad of brash, no-nonsense heroes all born from the villainy of the Joker. That's a tough team right there.

That would be a new dream-come true! And yeah. a team of those 3 could handle a lot. They'd work nicely to supplement and enhance one another, too, both in terms of skills and in demeanor and personality.

After reading Batman Annual 5 I hope Big Henry becomes a mentor for Bao. I was also surprised that Bao's scar wasn't related somehow to The Joker or Harley, I wonder if that'll factor into a future story?
I'm currently reading Batman, Detective Comics, DCeased: Dead Planet, Dark Knights: Death Metal, Daredevil, Thor, Nightwing, The Rise of Ultraman and Red Hood and The Outlaws. I'm also trade-waiting the Hickman-era of X-Men comics.

I don't think it's a scar, I think it's supposed to be like a stylized part inspired by the character in his game. the way we go from him not having it before his parents death to suddenly having it when he decides to be Clownhunter, makes me think it's meant to be a style choice to denote his change to Clownhunter (and maybe eventually Red X).

I didn't consider that, that would be an interesting take on the character's appearance.

So basically, Bao cut/styled the X onto his head in a similar way that an older teen/young adult might get piercings or tattoos, albeit with the added context of Bao's specific situation also being an influence?

While it's probably inspired by the game character I don't think it's something as permanent as a piercing or tattoo.
