Default THE HIDDEN JUNGLE: Ka-Zar and Shanna the She-Devil Appreciation 2021

Concealed beneath a strange haze, snow, and fog...
surrounded by a frozen wasteland at the very edge of the world...
lies a secret land, a land of indescribable beauty, a land filled with dangers beyond imaging...
    a Savage Land.

There is a forest in this land, one of many, embraced by mountains, waterfalls and mysterious mists...
Though untamed and wild, this forest indeed has a master, a protector, a king.
A man so savage even the greatest beasts fear his shadow, yet his noble heart is known to allies and enemies alike...
This man is KA-ZAR: LORD of the HIDDEN JUNGLE!

Once known as Kevin Plunder, orphaned and lost in the great jungle, Ka-Zar was adopted by the ferocious yet faithful Sabertooth named Zabu.
Himself the last of his kind, Zabu protected the young Ka-Zar in the terrifying Savage Land as he came of age and learned, to not only survive, but master his new home.
The two would be inseparable as they ventured out into the Savage Land and Greater Pangea, encountering peoples, tribes, kingdoms, and all manner of beast thought lost to time.

And then there was Shanna. A woman who's heart was so wild, she left the modern world and sought a home and a life to match her own wild nature and lust for life.
She found the Savage Land, she found Ka-Zar, she found Kevin Plunder, and together they found love and family.

I can only hope as well. I want new stories in the Savage Land.

    PROS:
Zabu and Shanna make a cover appearance in the latest Avengers.

    CONS:
Zabu and Shanna are on an Avengers cover during a terrible Phoenix story arc.

how many issues did Christopher Priest write?

Is Frank Cho coming back to the characters? The two of them should team up.

Shockingly, Priest only wrote three whole issues and an upside-down back-up preview (#14):

Probably a controversial choice, but I've always preferred the Joe Mad version:

Did Joe Mad ever do more than that one splash page?

Frank Cho is technically a really great draughtsman, but he's more interested in T&A cheesecake than just making good comic art. If he took a Ka-Zar book seriously, I'd be all in, but he never will.

I meant no offense, I also think Cho is a great artist. And I totally get where you're coming from about what's been going on with his artwork.

As for Joe Mad's artwork, both Ka-Zar & Shanna make appearances throughout the last three issues of Ultimates 3 (#3; #4; #5):
