In Spider-Gwen's universe, it was hinted that Em Jay's growing resentment of Gwen came from her repressed romantic longing for Gwen and her having hurt feelings over Gwen seeming to not notice, care about, or reciprocate that longing, so there's that. Then the A-Force miniseries that came out in Secret Wars, at the end, had Spider-Gwen saving Mary Jane from some zombies and the two of them were in a somewhat romantic embrace while Spider-Gwen was swinging MJ to safety. And hell, some comics have indicated when MJ and Felicia interact that if it wasn't for the tension regarding their mutual feelings for Peter/Spider-Man, they'd be very good friends . . . if not more.

I would love to see the friendship between MJ and Felicia.
I also have no problem with Carlie being friends with MJ.
I really liked that Carlie referred to MJ to the Lookups support group.
I want to see more of the Lookups stuff.

Yeah, and nearly clawed up MJ out of sheer jealousy. That kind of thing tends to hang heavy over a relationship.

Is mostly just writer trying to push a prefered pairing or their personal idea of what would be best for Peter/the story and failling in getting the fans invested on then, but in his overall story, only 3 of then matter. The rest were just kind of a thing for a while and then banished, most of then didn't even date him.
