"So you've come to the end now alive but dead inside."
Not exactly true. If you look at foreign countries Italy had a great film making industry post WW Ii. Directors like De Sica and Fellini actors and actresses like Loren, Lollobrigida and Mastroianni. But they failed to invest in their industry and it died. Mexico by comparison is doing well. They are able to export their telenovalas around the world and have not lost 99% of their stars to Hollywood ( Salma Hayak and Elza Gonzalez are exceptions). The ones with the Hollywood problem are English speaking countries like Canada, Britain, Australia and Ireland. Take Daniel Craig. He is James Bond, and with the exception of Queen Elizabeth and possibly Churchill I cannot think of anyone ( real or fictional) in the past Century that represents the UK like Bond, yet he became an American Citizen and is making more money doing knives out sequels then Bond movies. That said, this is nothing new. Lots of Talent from these countries came here ( even before World War II Hitchcock being just one example). As far as comics are concerned. There is plenty of diversity. Kamala Khan, Captain Britain, Alpha Flight. Wolverine Shang Chi and that is just a start.

I'm well aware of your examples (I'm a huge fan of Italian Horror Cinema from c.1970 - c.1995). But none of those could compete with the juggernaut that is Hollywood post-WW II. Things are starting to change now but from c.1945 - c.2010 Hollywood (including TV production) had a stranglehold on most forms of worldwide entertainment.
