If both of our boys are getting benched, maybe it's a good time for another team-up soon.
Anyone here read the The Flash Fastest Man Alive digital series? I read the first 3 issues last night by Gail Simone. It is a fun read. Much better than anything else since Barry's return IMO. And in 3 issues I think the speed force was only mentioned once instead of every panel like in the Williamson run. Ugh.
Anyway, I'm gonna keep reading tonight. If you haven't read it yet check it out.
That's a promo for Fortnite, by the way.

I was originally going to post this in Wally's appreciation thread, as it pertains more to a subject currently under discussion there, but it didn't feel right to hijack Wally's thread for Barry-talk, so here it is:
When Barry first returned shortly before FINAL CRISIS in 2008, I was ecstatic. At long last, twenty-plus years of patience and persistence had paid off. Barry would finally be returning!
My personal goals, however, were much more modest than what we actually got, and considering what happened to Wally and his fans in subsequent years, it's been kind of an embarrassment.
What I had in mind, if I had been in charge at DC Comics, would have been this: Barry Allen would have returned to life in FINAL CRISIS (or perhaps even earlier during INFINITE CRISIS), but he would not (at least not immediately) reclaim the FLASH title or serve as the main Flash. The status quo with Wally as the main Flash (and familiar costume) would have remained in place, while Barry played a role similar to Jay's (supporting veteran Flash). Wally would maintain the spotlight as the flagship character of THE FLASH franchise while Barry got up to speed (sorry for the pun) in backup stories or guest appearances. However, there would be a new iteration of THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD or DC COMICS PRESENTS, but instead of Batman or Superman being the regular host character, it would be Barry. In this series, per tradition, Barry would meet and team up with another DC hero...often a new character who did not yet exist when Barry died in COIE in 1985 (e.g. Tim Drake Robin, Kyle Rayner Green Lantern, Kon-El Superboy, etc.), and Barry would use these experiences to become familiar with the new landscape of heroes and villains who had emerged since his "death." Similarly, those who had only known Barry as a legend from the past would get a chance to learn more about and develop rapport with Wally's uncle, getting to know him as a man. I would maintain this status quo for perhaps two or three years before gradually working Barry back in as co-lead with Wally in THE FLASH.
