Ugh, I'm really not looking forward to when Marvel has to retcon their retcon with Wanda and Pietro. It's just so damn stupid and should've never happened to begin with.

I'm really interested in the story potential of Zaladane being Magneto's daughter. Or maybe she's related to Polaris on their mother's side. Who knows. Either way, Magneto killed her because he saw too much of himself in her, so that helps the possible relationship. It'd be interesting to see him trying to mold Zaladane into the person he's become now. Though I prefer her as a straight-up villain, and she's played second-fiddle for too long (first Garrok, then Sauron, then High Evolutionary).

I'd be amused if, as can only happen in comic books, it was revealed that Wanda and Pietro were indeed not Magneto's kids, but that he *did* have a pair of twins by Magda that had been until-now never seen! Lazlo and Lena Lensherr (mutant powers, if any, up in the air). Just keep pumping them out, see if you can rival the Summer's brothers, or catch up with Lucinda Guthries brood...

But seriously, as for Zaladane, it's interesting that she appeared in the Savage Land, where Magneto was doing all sorts of sketchy experiments to turn the local tribesfolk into mutates like Amphibian and Vertigo. I wonder if Zaladane was born or *created?*

With the ongoing(?) retcon and remix of the Twins' origins and their connections the High Evolutionary and Wundagore, it's worth remembering Zala also had her own connection there. Seeds to a story methinks...

And remember that power transfer she pulled off with Polaris was said to have only been possible with a close genetic relative. So the postulation that maybe Magneto created Zaladane using his genetic material either thru his science or the old fashioned way, could also work well in future stories.

The fun thing about this is Zala already kind of 'stole' Polaris' powers rather than had her own, so it could be amusing if she did some shenanigans that allowed her to mimic Wanda and Pietro's powers as part of usurping their mutant status / heritage. She's now super-fast and able to 'hex' others with bad luck! It'd be an interesting tweak to give her a more physical powerset like super-speed, after her previous outings.

Plus if she usurps Wanda's powers, some wag has to call her 'the Pretend-Pretender.'
