I thought it was a good writeup about the Question.
The O'Neil/Cowan run is one of DC's hidden gems I would absolutely buy in hardcover, omnibus if that's what it takes. It needs to be recollected!
I thought he was adapted well in JLU (DCAU, in general):
And I enjoyed his interactions with the Huntress (DCAU version ):

Jeffrey Combs was an awesome Question. Without any facial expressions his voice had to do the heavy lifting. He conveyed just the right balance of creepy, mysterious and knowledgeable.
Crisis on Infinite Earths #6 (September 1985) was the issue where many (but not all) of the Charlton characters (like The Question) made their first appearance in the DC universe.
I wish there was more recognition of the differences between Vic and Charlie in the fanbase. I think O'Neil and Cowan, and later DC writers following in their footsteps, make some pretty big distinctions between their version and Ditko's, to the extent that I might just consider Vic and Charlie to be two different characters.
I'm a huge Ditko fan; I'd be interested to see a version of Q more designed to take after the original specifically, even though I do love Charlie and everything O'Neil did with him.
