Academy X: New X-Men Appreciation 2021

The back doesnt look right to me. Between the hair and her arms look like little webbing or like gills to me. Or the art is that hard to tell. I also was thinking maybe Transonic. And is that supposed to Anole playing music? The colors on everyone just seem a bit off, either that or its the is it blue dress or gold dress all over again.

I'd consider the redhead on the left in the Blob karaoke scene to be Mercury over Transonic since she doesn't have the head fins. She looks so blue to me in those two panels, and I can't tell if it's my eyes playing tricks on me or not; maybe the water is "reflecting" off her metallic grey skin and altering the color slightly to me. The colors always throw me off in these wallpaper scenes and it goes back to needing some type of character bible for these things if they're going to draw specific characters. Bling! is somehow colored differently in both of those images, which isn't entirely strange considering how many different colors she's been over the years, though I most associate her with shiny purple.

She reads blue to me to, not silver. Thats why I dont think it is mercury. Plus those up and down lines are to rigid for lack of better terms for it to be a being of flowing metal.

Getting war flashbacks to the Liu book, where Surge showed up in the first issue to complain about Laura, and then get called a bitch by Dust. Though oddly enough, Surge actually raised a few good points there, but that was probably unintentional.

The way that book did the New X-Men in what little appearances they had is why I blacklist Marjorie Liu and won't read anything she writes out of spite.

I hope she gets a new outfit some day, Somthing with the colors of the Troupial would be perfect since is the national animal of Venezuela, and is a pretty bird

Tbf, I think this is the best Wind Dancer has ever looked. And I like her costume, I'd just update the colour scheme to show a graduation from New Mutants to superhero.

I see a number of new characters have been added since last time, but of most interest to me, Mercury and Bling! were just added as a pair, as they should be.
