Other than through the process of elimination, (and given the current established line-up of the Batfamily), honestly how could you tell it's even her - could be just about anyone. Though I suppose that's true for most of them in the pic, other than Jason with his distinctive hairdo.

While it's still Mother's Day, here's a partial portrait I made of Gabi, using her averaged look from all appearances:

Quite a bit of nonsense in today's The Other History of the DC Universe #4. Ridley, for some reason I can't figure out, massively changed Kate and Renee's initial relationship despite keeping everything else about Renee's history pretty much completely accurate.
He changed spoilers:end of spoilers He completely altered spoilers:
their first meeting, having Renee be a security guard encountering a comically drunk Kate in a parking lot rather than pulling her over for speeding. end of spoilers And, perhaps most damning, he made Renee spoilers:
Kate's reasons for drinking. end of spoilers It's maddening how unnecessary every single one of those changes were.
a cheater by making Kate her side piece while she was dating Daria, when originally those two relationships were years apart.
The changes to things in Elegy are particularly grating because in doing so, Ridley removed thematically relevant material and replaced with with generic drunk-girl, "she's so wonderfully flawed" crap. The one thing I had wanted to see from this segment was how Renee reacted to Kate calling her out on what Kate saw as cowardice, but absolutely nothing was done with that. In an issue explicitly devoted to Renee's inner turmoil at having to hide her sexuality, this moment gets no play at whatsoever. It's baffling.
Fortunately, this is Black Label and therefore not canon, and the parts covering 52 onward are better in this regard. But wow, what a souring handful of pages that was.

100%. The initial meeting scene would have worked the exact same if Ridley had kept to what happened in Elegy. The other mischaracterizes both characters so badly that for a brief moment one might be convinced Ridley had never even heard of them before, and on top of that actively harms the issue's theming with some of the omissions made. I'm at a loss to explain why these changes were made to this specific section of Renee's history, and why they were so drastic, when nothing else in the issue comes anywhere close to that.
