To be fair, Wonderman did catch Namor off guard while he was talking to the Whizzer. Still, looking back at that it just confirmed to me that physically Wonderman never looked stronger and more powerful in action than when he wore.his original costume.

Yes, this is what a bunch of us have said on here.

As to the distraction thing, well, Namor still knew Wondy was there and I am sure others have surprised him such as the Hulk or Hercules leaping into him or Thor hurling his hammer or using lightning.

I believe it is the combined Strength of Wonder Man at that time plus his durability hitting with the power of Mjolnir. That first punch really sent Namor a-flying, while the next one was pure power.

Slightly off topic are there any other examples of writers destroying characters because they don't like them? I know white Vision was a result of dislike from the writer.

I don't remember ever reading/seeing anything from Bendis where he blatantly states that he hated Simon.

Yes, he brought him back from limbo just to tear him down and send him in a direction that's more or less responsible for what we have now, but in their deluded minds these writers truly think they're doing something great. *eyeroll*

Most writers won't usually come out and say whether they like a character or not, but their treatment of a character usually speaks volumes.

I was going to comment on Tigra. The way he treated her was a disgrace and his disdain for her was obvious. I don't think he was particularly fond of Elektra or Hank Pym either.

I liked their take on Simon. Yeah, kind of shallow and exaggerated, but he still had his heart and was a good guy in the end.

I was going to comment on Tigra. The way he treated her was a disgrace and his disdain for her was obvious. I don't think he was particularly fond of Elektra or Hank Pym either.

I don't think he was a fan of a lot of classic Avengers characters, or at least wasn't invested in them.
