I like it! That red/blue combo isn't bad, but it's such an overused combination.

I think one of the problems with costume design is that you really don't know how well it will work until it starts being used in published material. IIRC, Bob Layton designed the X-Factor costumes, but then rethought his ideas when he saw how Cyclops looked in his Marvel Universe Handbook entry, which featured the costume for the first time. Seeing it in print, Layton decided it didn't work like intended and redesigned it, leaving the handbook the only place where that costume was ever published.

Funnily enough, because I read The Bride of Ultron/ The Nefaria Trilogy as British reprints, I rarely saw Wondy's second costume coloured, the British comics being in black & white. Needless to say, it looked perfectly fine to me and it wasn't until years later I found out that people considered it too colourful.

How about these atlernate costume?

I don't like the first, the second isn't bad but is maybe little bland. Always difficult to tell, though, as a great artist can sometimes turn a ho-hum costume into something special if it gels with their art style.

Yes, it's been his default forever, but I think any good Wonder Man costume needs a healthy dose of black and red. Though I do like the white in that second one above...

The white with the black is actually very reminiscent of Nefaria's look in the Nefaria Trilogy.

How about these atlernate costume?

The first one is just the safari-jacket look with a different color set, and I can't say it's one I like. The second seems a little bland, like something they'd use in a cartoon, but it's not all bad. Maybe some color (white or red) on the boots and/or gloves would improve it.

I haven’t really kept up with the comics for the last year or so but is Wonderman currently still active? Any news of when he will show up again next?

The last time I saw him was in the Empyre: Avengers mini series last year. He was still towing the pacifist line, and is basically window dressing. But yes, he's technically "active", if you can call standing around and reminding everyone that he won't hit stuff as being active...

I'm not sure if he's had any appearances since then.

A cameo appearance in the MODOK: HEAD GAMES mini a few months ago.
