I think the "Union" miniseries will never be mentioned again, but why not connect Excalibur with whoever Britannia was? Supposedly a beloved British super-hero for decades?
Contrast that with whatever Betsy's responsibilities are supposed to be.

Almost caught up! I’m headed to work, but should have issue 20 read by the time I get home. I have to say that this arc has been Tini’s best thus far. There are still oodles of problems with pacing, events that should have happened, yet didn’t, and only a passing remark made me think I missed something, but it’s been enjoyable. I can see hints of the Moore/Davis/Delano Betsy. Hell, I even see som shades of CC’s Betsy from when she first joined the X-Men. The entitlement, the arrogance masking the insecurities. Don’t get me wrong, I still think Tini should be replaced, but I’ll keep up with this book until it happens. The hodgepodge cast still needs to go.

That's really good. Only problem with minimising the white, though, is that she looks more like Captain Norway. Does Norway have a Captain?

So it’s the dissassembled costume, but with a dark red and blue palette? It’s not my favorite, but it’s fine and it’s worlds better than what she has now.

I like this costume, but I don’t like how this drawing emphasizes the puffy sleeves, which are my least favorite part. The sword looks really cool. If you give it less puffy sleeves, take away the red paint on her face and let her loose, then i’d be totally down with this replacing her current CB costume.
