Default Poison Ivy 2021 Appreciation: Year of Queen Ivy

Didn't see a thread so making one. 2021 is shaping up to be a pretty big year for one Pamela Lillian Isley (Frank: That's DOCTOR Pamela Isley to you!). Already confirmed are:

    - Her appearance in Future State with the Gotham City Sirens backup in The New Batman in January and February
    - Her very first young adult graphic novel Poison Ivy: Thorns in May
    - A major storyline and a new title of Queen Ivy in the main continuity (with a rumored spin-off series) taking place sometime in the summer or fall I presume
    - A Harley Quinn Season 3 confirmed to focus more on Ivy and the Harlivy romance coming at the end of the year (or at least the marketing for the season will be in full swing towards the end of the year)

And those are just the biggies. Others include the return of The Sporelings from Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death in the Flash Facts Science Book for children out on February 2, a supposed story in the annual DC Valentine's special, another Harlivy story in March's Batman: Urban Legends, a tease for an appearance in the Gotham Knights video game and ongoing appearances in Cartoon Network's DC Super Hero Girls, Harley Quinn: Black, White and Red and Catwoman (YES, there's actually an ongoing Ivy story in Catwoman that slipped under many Ivy fans' radar)

Speaking of Catwoman, writer Ram V has also teased an Ivy appearance in his upcoming Swamp Thing book, which should be exciting for any fans who have been clamoring for forces of The Green to unite. There is a two-part Batman: The Long Halloween animated movie that's on its way (but there is no confirmation if Ivy is going to appear in it like in the original book yet).

Of course, there is the elephant in the room that is the DCEU. After the box office underperformance of Birds of Prey, there's uncertainty about what to do with Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn after her next venture The Suicide Squad (the fact that it's simultaneously releasing on HBO Max doesn't help matters). Rumors of a Gotham City Sirens sequel to Birds of Prey featuring Ivy haven't solidified in concrete yet, despite BOP director Cathy Yan saying she'd love to tackle the Harley and Ivy romance next. There is also a separate rumor about Ivy being the villain in the upcoming Batgirl movie (now hinted to be released directly on HBO Max). Will we finally get some confirmation this year? (considering Ivy was initially confirmed for a DCEU appearance in a Sirens film way back in December 2016, the fact that nothing has still not come off it by January 2021 is just emblematic of all the false starts the DCEU has been having for near 5 years now).

Regardless, it's going to be a fun year for fans of the Vixen of the Vines, with something for everyone who prefer her as an anti-hero, a villain or as a hero. May your 2021 be a green one, Ivy fans!

Very excited to see more Ivy this year!

I loved her in the Harley Quinn cartoon so looking forward to it...

but what I want more is for her to be in a movie...done right! I just hope they change writer because I thought the Birds of Prey movie was really boring and messy character wise. It was only good for Harely, the other characters felt bland and shallow for my taste.
A picture would last longer darling...

Queen Ivy is silly. I dont remember Ivy has ever been written as the big bad that can hold mini event. Ivy works better in short but memorable stories.

Anyway a great cover that i have found. Cover artist: Nick Bradshaw.

Hoping 2021 will be a bountiful year for Ivy & her supporting cast!

    BTAS version still the best!

Normal-skin Ivy is still a favorite (and much preferred, actually):

Ivy looks great both in green skin and in human skin. I somehow feel green-skin is more suitable for her character because green skin seems to be a villainous appearance as witches also have green skin. Also her body is full of poison so it makes sense for her to look not like other ordinary human.

BTAS Ivy is good but can i ask what you think is really special about her? She is fun and does things in twisted ways but not like the most fun & sadistic Ivy could possibly be. BTAS is a slow paced show for kids to be able to watch (meaning not much sexual tension, no gory death) not to mention being filled with unnecessary dialogues to make the episodes longer than it should be.
