With Lois, I am very much against the idea of giving her powers. But I don't have any problem having her operate at a heighten level of a lot of "human" characters in comics. She should be one of the smartest in the room, an exceptional investigator, and better than average hand to hand (either from her Dad or just because she's gotten herself into and out of all kinds of trouble over the years she figured it out.) Elseworlds like All Star or that Nightwing one where she was the Blue Lantern are fine and can be fun though.

I don't put any credence to a We Got This Covered story though. That site is fantasy.

Cavill said a couple of years ago that he would like Lois to have super powers. So it is likely that there is some truth in the article.

It wouldn’t surprise me just knowing how he is and what he values.

In contrast, Tyler Hoechlin gave a beautiful interview a few weeks ago where he talked at length about how much Clark admired and loved Lois for doing the things she does without the privilege of superpowers—the fact that she was so vulnerable and yet willing to do what had to be done and why it made her such a hero. That he would never change her etc.

I’ll let you draw your own conclusions about which of the actors understand the point of Lois Lane better.

The most unoriginal thing you can do with an established character is just "give them powers and a costume."

Cavill said the almost same thing about Lois, as Hoechlin.

Happy 83rd birthday to arguably the best female character in all of North American Comic Books and my favorite non-powered (typically) female character. If Lois had powers she could turn off and on when needed (say Super Serum or a Power Ring) so she could get in on the direct ass-kicking action more often (it is the one element missing, IMO) she'd be my all-time favorite hands down, but I digress.

Indeed. My favorite moment will always be her reaction towards Krypto (LOL!):
