I feel like there were, like, 2-3 instances in MoS where it would've made sense for him to say it, but he didn't say it.

I actually didn’t mind them making Zod less hammy. I prefer Zod as a more nuanced character, but given this film seems aimed at providing as much fan service as possible in order to try to win over the general audiences to the DCEU, I think he’ll say the line here.

I think it's less a case of being hammy and more just being very aggressive, arrogant, and loud.

I think the dynamic with her curse and history is pretty interesting and just how terrifying how she kills people is.

Yeah they did a pretty nice story with that.... then made her part of team Supergirl.... then continuity mangling happened.
