Am I the only one who likes Laura Braga's art more than the first issue's? It's just more detailed and lifelike, I feel.

I do hope this gets adapted into an animated series.

I think it’s pretty clever how the Magistrate helmets kind of look like The Punisher symbol. Some of them even have a stylized American flag on them. There has been a lot of discussion about how the Punisher symbol has been perverted and now represents an authoritarian and even racist ideology. What better symbol to represent fascism come to Gotham?

Yeah, that's a really great move. Especially when those guys are basically creating a fascist city-state but dress it in the color of the US values of freedom etc.

So im on the fence. What's the verdict. Is this book worth continuing to pick up issues? I find it hard to justify the 8 bucks a pop...

I find it to be pretty refreshing after the multiple story arcs of James Tynion's Batman run. You might want to wait until The Next Batman: Second Son, as that'll actually be set in the main DCU, but Future State: The Next Batman is entertaining enough.

Tell you what, its good but why don't you wait for the hardcover where it is just Ridley's Batman stories collected. It should be cheaper as its only collecting Ridley's stuff from the sound of it.

The Mayor is Nakano, he was introduced as a cop in Joker war who lost his eye and partner and decided to run for Mayor in an anti-vigilante campaign. He will be in the present day though.

Other then that we don’t really know but we know that Tanya Fox, Lucius Wife and Jace’s mother, is working for him as legal counsel to protect the magistrate law that was passed from a legal challenge.
