If X-men Apocolypse gets created (most likely without Singer attached as if they fast track it), having future spin-off's be part of the horsemen would be a great idea. They could also include the other Horsemen as those whom become the members of X-force...instant spin-off potential.
I really do not think Channing will do a bad job at all. He has done the street tough role, the charmer role, the straight up action role. The actor has love for the character, even before knowing a movie was possible.
Give him a chance, I think he could pull it off.
Until there is actually a confirmation HE has signed on though, not just the producers moist dream for the role, we can hold off on the hate or the love for that matter.

Remy, Genevieve and Sabretooth in Paris.

Will Anna Paquin be in it?
I hope not. Never liked her as Rogue.

How many people will be eaten by alligators?
I hope at least 2 guys would be eaten)

How many close-ups of a mid-flight playing card will there be during the film?
I would like to see Remy more using his powers in creative way. Like in Asmus` solo.

Of the playing cards used as weapons seen in the film, how many will be face cards?
    50/50

Will Northern California's own Credence Clearwater Revival be a part of the soundtrack? How about Long Island's Mountain?
I hope Hans Zimmer will write soundtrack.

Do you want him to wear a costume faithful to his comic appearances, like Thor?
I want costume designed by Clay Mann when he is on missions.

Why do people think he is too bulky? He was pretty trim in Magic Mike.

    X-Men #33. Done.

I'd love to see Liev Schreiber return as Sabretooth.

But I also really love the horseman idea for Apocalypse. it could totally work.

The best thing about an actor of Channing's fame being cast as Gambit is that this movie will get eyeballs.

Eyeballs = great for the character. In the comics as well. If he gets a movie, he is getting another solo at least.

What's funny is he could have his own trilogy as a villain in other solo films. One in Wolverine, one in Gambit, and if my some happenstance they decide to base the Deadpool script off of Agent of Weapon X, he'd be in that too. But then FOX would be making it seem like Sabretooth is the only villain worth a damn. We don't want that.

Like Stryker. At least he's only a supporting character in DoFP, though.

My thoughts exactly... He's a horrid "actor" and he's all wrong for the role.

If this is how it starts I hold out little hope for the movie, if you can't even get the casting right.... That's not promising.

If he could act maybe I could forgive the fact that he looks absolutely nothing like Gambit but he couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag.

Who cares, he's not even close to being attractive, how could he ever pass for Gambit?
