If they can’t find a director, Tatum and Carolin might take over directing.

The way I’m understand it, the Gambit movie will not be called a superhero movie.
It’s a romantic heist movie about a thief who has special power.
This is they will billed the movie.
The $155 million budget was scraped, replaced by a $60 million budget.

At this point, I rather this movie doesn't happen and wait for the Disney's new X-men movies.
Disney will probably be looking for characters that haven't appeared that much in the Fox movies to avoid repetition, and Gambit is probably the most recognizable X-men that fit that requirement.

At this point, I rather this movie doesn't happen and wait for the Disney's new X-men movies.

Eh if Fox can make it then make it. Would like to see Tatum's take on it so I can at least compare it to Marvel's. Not to mention not sure Marvel will do anything with the character that I would like given their largely juvenile humor and take on the comics.
