Basically it's the new talking point. Like how Marvel can't make a FF film because Constantine owns them not Fox

The agreement also provides Disney with the opportunity to reunite the X-MEN with the Marvel family under one roof and create richer, more complex worlds of inter-related characters and stories that audiences have shown they love. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels.
Iger said it shouldn’t be two Marvel, he’s a hypocrite.
Because he created two Marvels when took Marvel Studios away from Marvel Entertainment.
So, there is already two Marvels.

If Disney buys Fox, which owns the distribution rights to the FF, Constantine may own the movie property, but they can't do anything with it without Disney's approval which would force them to play ball. Or stalemate.
No such deal exists with the Donner company, which is a production house/team that has a contract with Fox. They don't own any rights. So yes, while Fox owns the movie rights to X-Men, the Donner Company which produces the X-Men films have some influence over the future of the franchise. As soon as Disney buys Fox, the Donner Company will have no power over the X-Men. So saying the Donners own the X-Men is like saying Bill Belichick owns the Patriots. Sorta but technically wrong.

Even I have to admit you might be right about reddit.
But in the long run it doesn’t matter who owns what, everything is going to workout one way or another.
It sound like all sides wants to merge the XMen with the MCU, that’s going to happen.
But I don’t think it going to be as widespread as fans want.
Donner will continue with her future plans for the XMen and Feige will continue his future plans for the MCU

If I contract a construction company to build an office...do they then own the office?
No? Then appt the same logic to Donner. This is beyond silly.
Will this be the first XMen release by Disney?

I am pretty sure the first movie released by Disney will be a new X-Men movie which will be a clean slate reboot. I still don't think Gambit is really going to happen unless they start actually shooting it in the next 6 months. If they don't start filming by then you can be pretty sure the project is dead.
