They really liked the whole aristocracy angle for the series (something of a common re-occurence with Gundam ever since the Zabis).

Having finaly caught up with the manga version as far as the western release goes, i can appriciate them adding some extra parts for Yor, since her first big story might not make it this season (really looking forward to it in animated form though).

Also not to spoil too much, but there should be one more "filler" story before there is a longer plotline again.

Got through all of Made in Abyss. It’s a very good show but definitely not for the faint hearted and I can see why some people would be put off by it. The biggest negative is that like a certain western animated show on at the moment it has far too much of its creator’s weird kinks incorporated into it, and that’s with this aspect apparently being toned down over the manga. TBH a lot of this stuff could have been cut entirely with no harm being done to the show.

Looks like Dragon Maid season 3 might need a new Ilulu.

Well, cat's out of the bag in Witch from Mercury. No mecha action (or dancing) but plenty of corporate shake-ups as the truth comes out about Aerial and Pharact being Gundams, which leads to the ban being semi-lifted with a new company. I'm guessing this will of course lead to some kind of arms race which will accelerate the possible space war that's been hinted at in other episodes.

Also some very Char-style plotting from Prospera. The opening has also been slightly altered to include two Gundam suits behind Delling, which seem to match Lfrith UR and Thorn which have been seen in pictures and models. UR looks like some kind of heavily armored one, while Thorn has kind of thin, chicken like legs but a huge backpack. Normally I'd say that might be similar to a transforming Gundam, but the kit doesn't seem to have that feature.

Poor old Suletta it seems like everyone wants to use her for their own ends it seems. At least Miorine even though she’s still using her seems to actually wants to protect her, and does care for her. It feels like most of the rest of the cast are a shifty bunch even her own mother is.

Shaddiq seems to be playing some angle with Nika.

Miorine seems to care a lot more for Suletta than the other way round. Suletta seems oblivious to what Miorine is putting on the line for her. Miorine has way more to lose than she does. Yet Suletta seems more interested in befriending everyone else.

Finished the old 80's TV adaptation of Dirty Pair as well as the movie. It's kind of interesting how much influence it seems to have had on the growing American fandom at the time, and also in pop culture-Star Trek: The Next Generation includes a lot of references to it, and apparently the Exocomp and "egg" from season 3 are heavily based on Nanmo, their robot pal. Also it's vice versa, one of the very first things in the show is a computer screen showing the names of the TOS cast, and the Lovely Angel ship TV version kind of looks a bit like The Reliant from TWOK. Adam Warren did an "Amerimanga" of it, and also references to Kei and Yuri show up in some Marvel comics of the time which send up anime (Such as an Excalibur issue).

Guess it's also possibly one of those animes that might be bigger in America in Japan, since it was cancelled prior to the last episodes airing (although those are available as part of the series on streaming). Or maybe the light novels are popular but the anime adaptations haven't been. Series quality and the character designs seems to be kind of all over the place too since I think some of the episodes were given to different studios (Granted, Evangelion and a few others have this problem too). Looks like the 90's reboot wasn't that big a hit either. Also one of the OAVs seems to be a bit less cartoony than the rest of the show, with more 'realistic' designs.

Although it's another mecha-lite episode, Witch from Mercury has some fun with Sulleta's group trying to get their company started, including a pretty hilarious promotional video and making the Gund-arm technology into medical use instead of weapons...which of course Shaddiq pretty much ruins.

Although others have thought Delling or Prospera may be the villains, it seems very much like Shaddiq is shaping up to be that way. Kind of like Paptimus Scicorro in Z Gundam, who pretty much replaced Bosq and Jamitov as the main bad guys.

Spy X Family introduces a new character, Fiona/Nightfall, a colleague of Twilight/Loid and a sort of rival to Yor. Although the post-credit second part of the episode deals with a different rivalry: Bond and Anya's stuffed penguin.

I just read about a new show, Pole Princess which is in the works:

Plot Concept: The show focuses on 17-year-old Hinano Hoshikita who comes across the sport of pole dancing by chance and embraces it. The project is a coming-of-age story about the efforts and growth of girls whose lives are changed when they encounter pole dancing.

Avatar: Here's to the late, great Steve Dillon. Best. Punisher. Artist. EVER!

New Witch From Mercury, after two episodes of plot, returns to the mecha battles this week, with a very good one featuring two teams of suits. There's a bit more to Aerial's mystery, such as it seeming to bypass an attempt to cancel out the GUND format which doesn't stick. Kind of like how the Evangelions would have the Eva (or rather, Yui's soul inside it) assume control when Shinji was incapacitated, although it's not a "berserker" mode here. So a little more fuel for the fan theory that Suletta is not Eri, but that Eri was somehow absorbed into the Gundam and that Suletta is either her younger sister or a clone.

The Grassley house suits kind of remind me of the Axis suits in Z Gundam (Before ZZ mainly featured the faction using updated versions of One Year War suits), especially their color schemes.

ChuChu fans will also have a lot to like in this episode as well.
