I'm not sure what they mean by "new" as I'm pretty sure there's been a few Gundam Build shows since IBO and I think a TV series edit of The Origin; however they could mean that this the first series in a while where there's a more serious sci-fi story and the characters actually pilot the Gundams as oppose to piloting model kits using VR like Gundam build.

Mercury of course fits with the Gundam being limited to our solar system and I'm curious like IBO did with Mars some of it will actually take place on some inhabited or terraformed part of the planet. No word if it's UC or alternate at this point.

Also Iron Blooded Orphans is getting a condensed re-release with some tie-ins to a mobile game and a movie is being made about Gundam's "lost" episode....which is kind of weird.....

Universal studios japan of course now has a demon slayer ride and cafe that will never come to the american parks.

Edit-they reposted the video but had to remove the ride itself footage as youtube took the video down over music rights.

Did you see the actress who plays Faye totally roasted the critics calling her out by saying she doesn't match the body type of Faye from the anime?

I'm one of the very few humans on the planet who never got the hype behind Cowboy Bebop (tried watching it TWICE but gave up after three or four episodes, the show just never grabbed me), but I'm totally with the actress here. More often than not, females in anime have unrealistic body types from jump street, I mean, it's either long legs literally for days, or girls with boobs so damn huge, they make Dolly Parton look flat, or both. For anyone to try and reach such an impossible goal in a live action adaptation is a fool's errand on steroids. I'm glad this actress stood up for herself.

I'm kind of curious what they'll do with Ed. I don't think *anybody* has that body type, unless they shrunk doug jones or severely tone down the character's rubberyness.

    Question

    Hi guys

I'm looking for the top 5 anime forums and what are the top 5 One Piece forums.

    What are your suggestions?

I posted this question on Reddit and CBR, but I thought I should ask here too, since I come here often.

Netflix opening for Cowboy Bebop. Naturally, they didn't change "Tank" at all and certain parts of the opening are straight out of the anime's version.

If the opening credits are any indication, looks like they might as well be doing adaptations of several episodes, although some statements said it would respect the canon or something. I mean, there's obviously Mad Pierrot, Space Warriors with their "mom" Twinkle Maria, either Shaft or Adbul Hakeem, etc.

Still no Ed though. There's a shot of hands similar to where Ed's should be but they're probably Faye's or Julia's.

It looks like a fairly faithful translation of the anime; one of my issues (aside from that the costumes looking pretty cheap to me) I’m really not feeling John Cho as Spike. Forgive me if this sounds ageist, but…it just seems too old for the part. I always thought Spike was in his mid-to-late twenties, or early thirties. He never struck me as a fifty something year old guy. So that’s distracting. All and all, regardless of how this show turns out it won’t diminish the anime one bit. Don’t have expectations either way for this…but I have to think this doesn’t turn out to be a utter abomination, right?

I see CR are releasing the 1985 Dirty Pair TV series but only in US & Canada. Why do so many of these old anime shows seem to have such messed up rights that half the time they never get released in the rest of the world. You’d think with such old shows there wouldn’t be these issues but there always seems to be. It feels more like 1981 than 2021.

No, I'm with you on this. Spike is supposed to be 27 in the anime, I believe.

Big fuss about nothing the guy is in excellent shape for his age and I can’t believe we are still having discussions like this in 2021.

Wrapped up Dragon Maid season 2. I know it took a while to come out but that is very understandable given the arson and later Covid.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S is a strong contender for my favourite anime of the year. So good.

My favorite part is when Elma thinks she's lost the kids in the woods and completely panics.
