Ha, no I was joking. Just a weird coincidence. If you were looking for something iconic to destroy in New York City it's either going to be the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, or the Twin Towers. This was just an example of that.

Rama-Tut is Kang and Immortus. He is not now nor has he ever been nor will he ever be the Sphinx.

The Sphinx was chief wizard for Ramses II. I know of no connection whatsoever to the "Kang Group". Rama-Tut preceded Ramses by about a millennium.

World History wasn't the strong point of Silver Age Marvel writers. Then again, neither was science, with the "roll around in radioactive stuff=superpowers" trope.

I had no idea that book was 29 years old, never saw it before.

Been a long time since I read that F.F. storyline, I will have to look tonight and refresh my memory.

    worstblogever gets me head scratching:

Nothing really inaccurate about the timing per se. Kang fled to 2950 BC, on the cusp between the pre-dynastic period and the early dynastic period. Ramses II became ruler 1279 BC. But, yeah, the pyramids and Sphinx displayed in the FF story were a little early and apocryphal. But then, with all the "it's all an alternate dimension" time travel stuff that got loaded on, they basically wrote themselves an escape clause.

You should check it out. It's one of the better '80s Marvel OGNs that focused on their superheroes. (Some of the Epic ones were spectacular.) Good old school story, and Silvestri could really draw back then. (Of course, Isherwood was a fantastic inker, so that probably helped.)

Re-Read F.F. #'s 19, 212 and 213 and you guys are absolutely correct, the only things the 2 stories have in common is Egypt.
Guess that's what happens when you get older and have not read the books in over 25 years.
